Dirac Live is Dirac Research’s advanced room‑correction system, available in several versions. To compare products fairly, here are the key differences to keep in mind:
Full‑range vs. low‑frequency: Some brands include only the low‑frequency Dirac Live license (up to 500 Hz). The full‑range upgrade costs USD 99. All miniDSP units include the full‑range license at no additional cost.
Processing sample rate: Dirac Live licensing depends on the internal processing sample rate. Many devices process at 48 kHz even if they support higher playback rates. Our Flex series, DDRC‑24, CDSP 8x12, and DDRC‑88A/D run at 48 kHz; SHD and DDRC‑22D run at 96 kHz.
Dirac Live Bass Control: DLBC provides automated subwoofer tuning. Since our platforms already offer extensive bass‑management tools, we haven’t added DLBC yet on all platforms. Currently DLBC is only supported by Tide16 series.
- Dirac Active Room Treatment (ART): The latest algorithm by Dirac Research is their most advanced audio correction technology. It unites all the speakers in your system to manage the acoustic challenges of your room — without relying on physical tools like panels or diffusers. Only the Tide series support ART
