DSP stands for “digital signal processing.” It refers to an entire field of study and application in which signals of various kinds are processed using digital hardware and software, based on mathematical equations. It is used in fields as diverse as audio processing, communications, medical imaging, video and television, radar and sonar, automatic control, and so on.
