Inter-IC Sound is a serial bus interface (3-wire interface) standard used for connecting digital audio devices together and most commonly used by audio ADC/DAC components. It also operates in two directions: as a transmitter (Tx) and a receiver (Rx).
In miniDSP's products it is used for board to board connectors.
