Indeed, the Flex HT is an 8 channels USB DAC among many other things. Instead of a simple stereo USB dac, this unit supports multichannel USB audio streaming. 

Does that mean you can't use it for stereo? Not at all! It will work perfectly fine for Stereo content as well using input channels 1&2.
