Inclusion of a miniDSP 2x4 HD in my audio system.

Greetings to all.

I have a Yamaha A-S1000 integrated amplifier whose manual can be found here:
https://europe.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/hifi_components/a-s1000/downloads.html#product-tabs

I also have a pair of floorstanding Rois Acoustics Status 8.3 speakers, a review and measurements (in Greek but can be Google-translated) can be found here:
http://www.avmentor.gr/reviews/rois_acoustics_status_8_3_2.htm

I would like to add two Klipsch R-12SW active subwoofers.

I intend to connect the miniDSP 2x4 HD between the pre-out and main-in of the Yamaha A-S1000, the Rois Acoustics will remain connected to the speaker-out terminals of the Yamaha, and the two remaining outputs of the miniDSP 2x4 HD will be connected to the Klipsch subwoofers.

I have two questions:

1) Is the above mentioned connection method correct?

2) Will the volume control of the Yamaha A-S1000 also control the two subwoofers?

Thank you!

Did you ever get this set up? I am attempting to do the same with a Denon AVR and a Monolith 7 amp. I have klipsch 12's and these are great for small rooms like mine.

miniDSP Agent

Hello Akarl,

Thanks for your interest in our products.

1) Is the above mentioned connection method correct?
ANS: It should indeed work fine.. Seems all good to us.

2) Will the volume control of the Yamaha A-S1000 also control the two subwoofers?
ANS: That’s more of a question for Yamaha than miniDSP.. :-) It depends if your volume control is “upstream” or “downstream” of the preOUT.

Hoping this info helps.
